When it comes to St. Patrick's Day, people mostly talk about green beverages and pinching. While that might be some of what happens on the holiday, we want to switch the focus! We want to talk about something a little different. We want to talk about St. Patrick himself! The traditional image of St. Patrick shows him holding a shamrock, which he used as a means of teaching religious lessons. He was also credited with the act of banishing all snakes from Ireland! Yep, according to legend, the reason that Ireland has no snakes today is all due to St. Patrick. They say that he chased all of those squirmy critters out of the island, never to return. That's right, Ireland doesn't have snakes to this day (crazy, right?). It's because of this man's legacy that we celebrate St. Patty's Day today, and there's no better way to pay homage to the iconic figure than by dressing up as him!
