Bending the Rules
Your daughter came home from school the other day and said that as part of a project, everyone in class has to dress up in 60s fashion. Sure, sounds normal. Except that your daughter did a little bit of research (as she always does), and is just so over the 60s. Yeah, there???s round sunglasses and long hair and hippie clothes and everyone says ???Peace, dude,??? or ???Groovy, man.??? But it???s just not her thing. Here???s an interesting thought: do the rules for the project state which 60s? Why not have her go dressed as someone from the 1760s? That could be a lot more fun! Of course, there???s always the chance that she might get in trouble for going outside of the parameters of the class project. But wouldn???t you say that???s a little revolutionary and worthy of its own applause? We certainly always like to support kids who think outside the box!
